  • Are you a girl or young woman with a disability?

  • Are you aged 13-18 years?

  • Do you live in the broader Melbourne area?

The Australian Government, through the Office for Women, has funded Women with Disabilities Australia (WWDA) for a small project called: ‘Girls with Disability: Understanding and Advocating for Your Rights’. This project includes developing a set of position statements on the issues that are important to young women and girls with disability.

We are also going to hold a small workshop for girls and young women with all types of disability to talk about advocating for your rights.

We are now seeking Expressions of Interest from young women and girls to attend our workshop in Melbourne, Victoria. The interactive workshop will be fully accessible and held on Sunday 18th June 2017.

At the workshop, you will have an opportunity to talk and learn about human rights and how to advocate for them. We will talk about the Disability Convention (CRPD) and the Women’s Convention (CEDAW). It will be a fun, engaging workshop that will support you to empower yourself and understand your rights.

We are seeking Expressions of Interest from girls and young women with disability who would like to attend the workshop. An Application Form will be sent out in the near future to those who have registered their interest in attending.

To have your name included on this list, please fill out the form below or contact WWDA by phone or email (details provided on the attached Expressions of Interest-Word Doc).
